Don’t just track your portfolio. Analyze it.
See which holdings drive your return and risk, how your own buys would have done in one fund, and your estimated cost base and tax. Every account, one place.
Then $9 CAD/month, or $60 a year. Cancel anytime.
Every account in one place
TFSARRSPFHSARESPRRIFNON-REGISTEREDA tracker tells you it went up. The Lab tells you why.
Built on the same fund data as the rest of DecodeETF: holdings inside every fund, payouts, and the tax slips each fund files.
Everything you own, in one place.
Every position across your accounts, sized by value and coloured by its return on cost. Tap one to see its detail and cost base.
- A map of your positions, or a full list with units, value, return and income
- Your gain since you started, money-weighted, against what you put in
- Each account on its own, or all of them together
See what’s inside your funds.
We look through every ETF you hold to the companies, sectors and countries underneath, then show where your funds overlap.
- Your stocks by sector and by region, against the ranges you set
- How much of one fund is also held by another, and which companies they share
- Your largest companies across all your funds
See which holdings are pulling their weight.
See which holdings add the most risk, next to what they add to your return. Spot the fund that adds swings without adding much.
- Risk and return by holding, on one chart
- Deepest fall for each holding vs your whole mix
- Past year, 3 years, 5 years or max
Would one fund have done better?
We replay your own buys and sales, same dates and amounts, into a single fund. See where the same money would be today.
- Against the S&P 500, the TSX, all-in-one and balanced funds
- Add a fund of your choice, priced in CAD
- Trace any replay line by line
Your estimated cost base and tax.
Adjusted cost base kept up to date through reinvested distributions and return of capital, from each fund’s own tax slips. Then an estimate of this year’s tax, by account.
- Open any holding to see every event that changed its cost base
- Estimated tax split into dividends, other income, foreign income and gains
- Export the ledger to CSV
Nine sections. One portfolio.
Overview, alerts, holdings, exposure, income, risk, versus one fund, tax and activity, all reading the same ledger.
Targets that tell you when you drift
Set a range for stocks and bonds, sectors, regions like Canada or the US, or currency, and a ceiling for your largest holding. The Lab flags what’s out of range and by how much.
Income, quarter by quarter
Every payout you’ve received, the ones expected next, and the yield of each fund you hold.
Distributions, added for you
Each payout your funds make, including reinvested ones your broker statement never shows, goes into your ledger and cost base automatically.
Fund closing notices
If a fund you hold is closing or merging, it shows up in your alerts.
Every account, apart or together
TFSA, RRSP, FHSA, RESP, RRIF and non-registered. Look at one, or the whole household at once.
The full ledger
Every buy, sale, payout and cash move, filterable by holding and account, and exportable.

Good to know
Do I connect my brokerage?
No. You record your buys and sales, and the Lab does the rest: it picks up each distribution your funds pay, including reinvested ones, and adds it for you automatically.
Which accounts can I track?
TFSA, RRSP, FHSA, RESP, RRIF and non-registered accounts, each on its own or all together.
What happens after the trial?
Your first charge is on day 8, $9 CAD a month or $60 a year. Cancel before then and you won’t be charged.
Is this investment advice?
No. DecodeETF is an information service, not a registered adviser. The Lab describes your own portfolio; it doesn’t tell you what to buy or sell.
